Our imaginative healthcare projects make an immediate and lasting difference to the lives of older people. Our teaching and training programmes make our expertise available to everyone.
We started KiB in 2009 as a way of sharing hundreds of simple but powerful ideas that make a world of difference to older, vulnerable people in hospitals, care homes and the community.
March 2024
Primary school children across the country are joining our drive to help older people feel happier and more connected to their community. Thousands of 4-11 year olds have now taken part in our ‘When Great Granny Came to Stay’ workshops, learning how to share stories and bring joy into the lives of people who grew up in very different times.

Kissing it Better’s unique scheme lets you gain valuable volunteering experience – perfect for your Duke of Edinburgh’s Award & UCAS statement. Taking part in our programme will also boost your CV and enhance your understanding of the challenges of healthcare, especially linked to the care of older people.
September 2022
Over the summer, our young volunteers helped us deliver good old-fashioned fun to local care homes, with a bumper range of traditional British fetes.
We offer a range of teaching and training courses, developed in partnership with Skills for Health.
KiB is committed to safeguarding and protecting every person we work with – young and old – and we expect all staff, associates, trustees and volunteers to share this commitment.
KiB is a dynamic organisation and we’d like to work with you. There are many ways to get involved, from becoming a volunteer, to signing up for one of our courses. Everyone we inspire can make a difference – together, we can help make life better for older people everywhere.
